"No student currently enrolled in The Children's School should miss the first day of school next year because Covid-19 has affected their family's ability to pay tuition."
We're in this together.
Let's help families
With input from our extraordinary faculty, our new board president and treasurer, and one remarkably generous family, TCS is establishing a “TCS Families Fund” in response to the financial strain COVID-19 has created for so many. Our goal: Every student currently enrolled in The Children’s School will be able to re-enroll for 2020-21 despite financial hardships caused by COVID-19.
This year, we will offer increased financial aid allocations through the regular financial aid process as well as 1-2 months of direct tuition relief through a discretionary fund. Other supports will include waiving application fees and working with families to establish flexible payment plans.
We will draw $50,000 from our financial reserves to seed the Fund. A current family has offered a matching dollar-for-dollar donation of up to $50,000 for other donations made to the fund during June, July and August! Thus we hope to have $150,000 total in our Families Fund. We’re busy ironing out the details now. We will then be contacting each TCS family to talk through how the 2020-2021 school year is shaping up and to learn how TCS can help support their student/s returning to TCS in the fall.
And yes, this is an opportunity for us all to consider how we can help keep the community together. We all have a role to play in keeping TCS strong and offering all our students stability in this challenging time. Perhaps now is the time to contribute to the fund if you can, or to draw from the fund if you need it. This is an important question for us each to consider.
If you are able to give--Click here--your gift will be doubled! And if now isn't the time, don't worry. If we each give what we can, when we can, then together we will keep our TCS community strong.
