Director Emeritus
Daniel P. Ryan, EdD, founded The Children's School in Oak Park, Illinois in 2004. He is a leader in the field of progressive education, and has also served as the Assistant Dean of the College of Education at National Louis University, Director of Baker Demonstration School, Principal of Hubbard Woods Elementary School, Assistant Superintendent of Winnetka Public Schools- District 36, and as N-2 Principal of the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools.

BJ Richards founded and directed an innovative child-centered early childhood care center in Forest Park, and is a tireless advocate of developmentally appropriate early childhood education. She served on the board of directors of The Children's School for many years and is still enthusiastically sharing the advantages of progressive education with parents of preschoolers in the suburban Chicago area.
