New TCS Library Exhibit: The Crown Project

We're excited to welcome a powerful new exhibit to the TCS Library: The Crown Project, created by TCS parent and artist Stacey Grieff. This vibrant collection of stylized portraits celebrates the beauty, individuality, and cultural significance of textured hair and race-based hairstyles.

The exhibit also connects to learning about The CROWN Act (Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair Act), which protects individuals from discrimination based on hair texture or hairstyles commonly associated with race. By highlighting this legislation, The Crown Project opens space for meaningful conversations about fairness, dignity, and belonging—values that align closely with our TCS community.

Stacey Greiff is mom to a TCS 8th grader and a (mostly) self-taught artist with a background in commercial photography and early childhood education. Now an art educator herself, Stacey discovered her love for painting and multimedia work through teaching. Her art often centers on women and elements of nature, using texture, metallics, and detailed pattern to explore how women express themselves and move through the world.

We're grateful to Stacey for sharing both her art and her voice with our community. We invite families to visit the TCS Library and experience The Crown Project together.
