"Time to Play" Speaker Panel Event at TCS Explores Importance of Play

Join us at The Children's School on Thursday, April 25th from 7-9pm for a free interactive event and speaker panel "Time to Play: Creating Spaces for Growth, Collaboration, and Community in an Over-Scheduled World."

Experience our amazing urban outdoor play environment and hear from experts about why incorporating play, especially nature-play, really matters in childhood and adult life for learning, wellness, socio-emotional development, and more. At the event, we will have expert tours of our play area as we enjoy a "recess" play session followed by panel discussion.

Our guest speakers include:

  • Lea Schweitz--Outdoor Education Consultant

  • Cheryl Munoz--Founder of Sugar Beet Co-op and Schoolhouse

  • Maui Jones--Founder and Artistic Director of Echo Theater Collective

  • Will Hudson--6th Grade teacher and Middle Level Coordinator at The Children's School

  • Susan Dombro--Director of Trailside Nature Museum, Cook County Forest Preserve

  • Moderator: Asma Ali--Instructional Design and Learning Analytics Expert
